Amos Maru enters his first year as a student assistant for the Academy of Art University cross country/track & field teams after competing four seasons for the Urban Knights.
A member of the original ART U men's cross country/track & field team and the squad which captured Academy of Art University's first Pacific West Conference Championship (2009), Maru concluded his decorated collegiate career with a lifetime best run at the 2011 PacWest Conference Cross Country Championships. Maru, who earned 15 top finishes for the Urban Knights, captured three PacWest individual titles, three PacWest Runner of the Year awards, three All-PacWest Cross Country Team honors, was 2009 PacWest Newcomer of the Year, and was PacWest Runner of the Week seven times.
Maru hails from Nandi Hills, Kenya and will be continuing his education at Academy of Art University in the Interior Architecture & Design department while serving as an Urban Knights student assistant.
