Aleco Preovolos
Aleco Preovolos is a Marin County native and currently the Head Tennis Professional at Harbor Point Tennis Club in Mill Valley.  He played collegiate tennis for the University of California, Davis, where he earned All-American honors four years in a row. This earned him an induction into the UC Davis Hall of Fame.

Aleco’s professional playing career includes six years competing on the Men’s ATP Tour, with five doubles titles, and many singles victories over various top 50 ranked players.

After a fine playing career,  Aleco found his fame as a coach on both the ATP and WTA tours. His 12-year stint as a professional coach includes Four Grand Slam Titles, Davis Cup Assistant Coach, and ATP Coach of the Year. His players include Wayne Ferreira, who was the only player to have a winning record over Pete Sampras, and Amanda Coetzer, who was ranked as high as #4 in the world, with wins over Steffi Graf, Justine Henin, and Venus Williams. Aleco also coached the doubles duo of Rick Leach and Ellis Ferreira to a world’s #1 ranking with a victory at the Australian Open in 2001. On tour, he was nicknamed “Super Coach.”

Aleco retired from the tour in 2006, and is enjoying his time at home with his wife and two sons.
