Eric Wright
Eric Wright is a former San Francisco 49er and is considered one of the best cover cornerbacks of his day. The two-time Pro Bowler was a Super Bowl Champion with the 49ers on four occasions during his ten-year career (1981-1990) in the National Football League. Wright's best individual year was during the 1983 season when he intercepted 7 passes for 164 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Wright played football for the University of Missouri where he was an All-Big Eight defensive back in 1979 and '80. Three of his University of Missouri teams competed in bowl games and Wright was later selected for Missouri's All-Century Team in 1990. Wright shares the Missouri record for the most pass interceptions in a game (three vs. San Diego State in 1979).
Wright is currently an Alumni Coordinator for the 49ers.
