Roger Craig

Roger Craig

Born in Davenport, Iowa, Roger Craig would attend the University of Nebraska prior to entering the NFL in 1983 and earning numerous honors.

His first seven years in the league were spent in a San Francisco 49er uniform including his rookie season in which Craig scored a combined 12 touchdowns rushing and receiving. When the 49ers became Super Bowl XIX Champions in 1985, Craig became the first player ever to score three touchdowns in a Super Bowl.

In addition to leading the NFL with 92 catches (1,016 yards) the following year, he also became the first player in NFL history to run and receive for at least 1,000 yards in the same season. The 1988 season saw the Associated Press name Craig NFL Offensive Player of the Year after he ran for a career high 1,502 yards. That year, the 49ers were crowned Super Bowl XXIII Champions and Craig earned his second ring. He led the 49ers to yet another championship the very next year in 1989.

Along with the three Super Bowl rings, Craig was a four-time Pro Bowl selection, a four-time All-Pro selection, and he appeared in the NFL Playoffs every year of his career.

He currently works in marketing at Tibco Software in Palo Alto, California.
