From 1987 to 1990, Jennifer Azzi played point guard for the
Stanford University women’s basketball team where she guided the team to an impressive 101-23 record and two Pac-10 Conference titles. In her senior season, Azzi and the Cardinal captured the NCAA Basketball Championship and she was honored with both the Naismith and Wade Trophies.
Azzi played on the U.S. women’s basketball team that won a gold medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia and she is regarded as one of the best players to ever play the game of basketball. Azzi was selected by the WNBA’s Detroit Shock in 1999 and was also a member of the Utah Starzz/San Antonio Silver Stars.
She currently resides in Mill Valley, California where she works as a motivational speaker. Azzi will be inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2009.
