HONOLULU – Defeating Chaminade in a dominant 6-0 sweep, Academy of Art women's tennis saw all five Urban Knights come out on top en route to the team win, collecting eight won sets of 6-1 or better in the process.

In doubles action, ART U saw a new combination from bottom to top of the lineup, with sophomore Amelija Supulniece and freshman Stefani Georgieva squading up on Court 1, taking a 6-1 win while sophomore Georgiana Parr and sophomore Estelle Najean got it done on Court 2, sweeping the contest with a 6-0. With the two doubles victories, the Knights clinched the first point of the day leading into singles play.

Serving up dominant performances all around from Courts 1, 2, 3, and 4, the top quartet skated through their matches. Starting on the top court, Supulniece's 6-0, 6-0 result matches Najean's 6-0, 6-0 on Court 2. While Georgieva closed her match out with a 6-1, 6-1 final score, Parr added on yet another 6-0, 6-0 result for the squad. Out on Court 5, sophomore Maddie Morrow competed in a close and competitive matchup and managed to fight through the battle, taking the eventual victory after a 6-7 (5-7), 6-4, 10-6 final.

Back in the Bay Area for their penultimate match of the regular season, ART U will compete with Dominican across the Golden Gate in San Rafael, Calif. on Sunday, Apr. 6 with a noon first serve.
