2025 Bobcat Invitational Results (Day 2)
The second of three days of action in the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational saw Academy of Art track & field once again add new names to the list of NCAA Division II Outdoor Nationals provisional qualifiers.
AUSTIN, Tex. – Highlighting the Texas Relays, four Urban Knights worked together toward another Outdoor Nationals provisional time in the 4x400m relay inside Mike A. Myers Stadium.
Holding the top two positions for much of their heat, the quartet of
Tre'Sean Bouie,
Vaughn Lacour,
Josh Shavies, and
Ethan Forbes finished the 4x400m relay with an Outdoor Nationals provisional time of 3:11.79, the Knights' second mark among the country's top 10.
Up against a strong field made up primarily of NCAA DI talent in the finals of the 400m hurdles,
Robin Black finished at 52.03 in sixth place overall.
SAN MARCOS, Tex. – Maika Cuenca-Andreo picked up where she left off in the heptathlon at Texas State Track & Field Complex less than 24 hours prior, delivering her first Outdoor Nationals provisional performance in the event at the Bobcat Invitational.
After finishing among the top three in three events on Thursday, Cuenca-Andreo added more than 1740 points to her total across the final three events of the heptathlon on Friday. She began with a 16-9.75 (5.12m) 10th place finish in the long jump then progressed upward to eighth in the javelin with a throw of 91-3 (27.81m). Her best placement of the day, however, came in the 800m as she capped the entire competition with a 2:28.13 for fifth overall. In the end, the native of Murcia, Spain took seventh overall, securing the 13th-best Outdoor Nationals provisional result with 4572 points.
Though she did not better her Outdoor Nationals mark from the day prior in the 1500m,
Grace Southern still finished fourth out of 63 competitors on Friday, posting a 4:30.75 time across the line.
Tomorrow marks the conclusion of both the Texas Relays and Bobcat Invitational.
