LIVERMORE, Calif. – Competing against NCAA Division I talent, Academy of Art women's tennis battled strong against Nevada on Thursday morning, but the Wolves were the team to eventually come out with a 4-0 victory at The Club at Livermore.

Sophomore Amelija Supulniece and junior Jessica Plazas showed off what they're capable of in doubles, as the pairing took down Nevada's No. 1 doubles duo in Marlene Foerster and Silvia Costache with a feisty 7-6 (7-4) result. On Courts 2 and 3, the Wolves were able to secure the doubles point as both came out as 6-1 wins for the away team to go up 1-0 on the day headed into singles action.

On the singles courts, only three matches would come out as finished on Courts 1, 4, and 5 in the Wolves' favor which included ART U's Supulniece, senior Paulina Alvarez, and freshman Stefani Georgieva. Sophomore Estelle Najean, sophomore Georgiana Parr, and Plazas were all battling on Courts 2, 3, and 6, but all three matches would be marked as unfinished while the latter in Plazas was up 6-4, 2-1 against Foerster at the time of the call.

Back to meet another Pacific West Conference opponent, ART U will be return to The Club at Livermore tomorrow morning where they'll take on Jessup with a 10 a.m. first serve.
