2025 Nevada Invite/Multis Results
RENO, Nev. – Academy of Art track & field walked away from the Nevada Invite/Multis with its share of memorable marks on Saturday as
Yacouba Gnacko excelled in the triple jump and
Josh Marlin had one of his best 400m races to date to lead the way.
On his very first attempt, Gnacko wedged himself between two professional athletes in Italy's Emmanuel Ihemeje (53-9.75/16.40m) and Premier Elite's Myles Massie (49-9.25/15.17m) with a significant improvement to his season-best triple jump. Gnacko added more than a full foot onto his previous top mark, going 50-5.5 (15.38m) to elevate to third in the country among Indoor Nationals provisional qualifiers. Though the Industrial Design major would not better the distance thereafter, he did end with another strong 50-0 (15.24m) effort.
Marlin went sub-48.00 for the first time in the indoor 400m over his Academy of Art career on Saturday, finishing third in the competition with a 47.41 that was once again under the Indoor Nationals provisional threshold. He broke into the nation's top 10 with the performance and simultaneously added his name in the program's fifth spot historically in the event.
The 60m Silver competitions featured multiple Urban Knights as both
Toni-Ann Lindsay and
Juvonna Cornette reached the final on the women's side while
Ajani Ince qualified through for the men. Lindsay dropped from 7.40 in the prelim to 7.37 for fourth in the final while Cornette's best mark of the day was a 7.63 that put her top eight of 27 in the prelims and matched the Indoor Nationals provisional standard. Ince had his own progression, going down from 6.78 in the prelim (fifth of 18) to 6.76 for sixth place in the final.
A new Knight was added to the top five all-time in the men's 600m as
Tariq Dacres put himself third in program history at 1:20.78. He claimed fifth of 25 on the day.
The top NCAA DII finisher in the 600m,
Lina Hanich was not far off her own program record in the event, taking second overall out of 12 with a time of 1:32.18.
Traveling to the East Coast for the first time this season, ART U will next contest the John Thomas Terrier Classic hosted by Boston University on Jan. 31 - Feb. 1.
