SAN FRANCISCO – Continuing to deepen not only the Academy of Art track & field roster but the cross country team as well, Director of Track & Field/Cross Country
Kevin LaSure and his staff have announced the signing of María Martín (Valladolid, Spain/IES Zorrilla) to a National Letter of Intent with ART U beginning this fall.
"Maria has shown good range from 800m to cross country," said Cross Country Head Coach and Track & Field Assistant Coach
Bruce Jackson. "We look forward to using her skillset in a variety of events."
A standout in cross country on the national level, Martin brings experience having won Spain's regional championship then competing at the national championship in the sport. She placed third by regional selections at the national meet. Outside of her time with IES Zorrilla, Martin spent 11 years in action for her club team Atletaria Isaac Viciosa in Valladolid.
Martin continues her journey toward becoming an advertising designer in the Academy of Art School of Advertising this fall.
