TURLOCK, Calif. – Going up against Warrior Classic host Stanislaus State on Saturday evening, Academy of Art women's basketball had nine of its 10 players score, but the Warriors rode a halftime advantage to a 74-57 victory inside Ed & Bertha Fitzpatrick Arena.
The Urban Knights faced an 8-2 deficit to start the contest, but a three-point play by junior guard/forward
Ladun Akako gave her team some much-needed relief. Over the final two minutes, ART U began to heat up with a 3-pointer from junior guard
Chanel Stuart and a layup by junior guard
Lauryn Manns, both which came off steals by freshman guard
Milan Tuttle, and the quarter ended with Stan State ahead 18-12.

Joy Krupa was then followed by Tuttle's triple and suddenly a single point separated the teams minutes into the second quarter at 18-17. Academy of Art then held a 21-20 lead on a layup from freshman forward/center
Christy Ojide and Tuttle's fourth steal in her first six minutes on the court led to a game-tying free throw at 22-22. The Warriors countered with a 9-2 run thereafter, but free throws from Stuart and Tuttle kept the halftime margin close at 31-27.
Krupa's three-point play conversion was key to keeping the Knights within striking distance in the early stages of the third, but Stanislaus State's subsequent 9-0 push grew their lead to double figures and it would remain there for the duration of the quarter as the Warriors began the fourth up 49-38.
