HONOLULU -- In the final game of their Hawaii road trip, senior guard
Cobe Williams scored a career high 26 points and moved into second on the ART U all-time career 3-pointers list, but the Urban Knights fell to Chaminade 90-78.
C. Williams shot 3-7 from beyond the arc, bringing his career total to 101, just four back from tying the all-time record. Â As a team ART U had an impressive offensive showing, shooting a solid 56.7% from the field and out scoring CUH 56-38 in the paint.
The Urban Knights jumped out to a 7-4 lead when C. Williams drained a shot from behind the arc with the assist from junior guard
Kiel Long.
Chaminade put 12 points on the board, but senior center
Cameron Niven threw down a layup to extend ART U 's lead to 16-12 with 12:49 left in the first. Niven ended with 12 points, two rebounds, and a block.
Junior forward
Andrija Blatancic worked his way through traffic to put the Urban Knights up 18-15 with just under 10 minutes left in the half. Blatancic's outstanding season continued as he finished with 20 points, seven rebounds, and two assists.
The Silverswords took over a small lead and went into the half leading 42-36. CUH quickly extended their lead to 14 early in the second half, but ART U chipped away, starting with a jumper from C. Williams. Then, with nine minutes remaining, C. Williams sank his 100th career three-pointer bringing the game to 69-64.
The Urban Knights looked poised for a comeback, but CUH pulled away and defeated ART U 90-78.
The loss drops the Urban Knights to 8-10 in conference, and 8-15 overall. ART U will travel back to San Francisco where they will face Holy Names on Sunday Feb. 17 at 3:30 p.m in Kezar Pavilion.
