SAN FRANCISCO – In a thrilling Halloween matchup, Academy of Art was treated to a 2-1 double overtime victory against Dominican on a golden goal by senior forward
Anissa Wilson in the 105th minute.
Wilson's fourth game winning goal of the season pushed her into second place on the ART U career points list. With a staggering 23 points this season, her total increases to 37 to pass Rea Laudat in the record books. Wilson is now up to 11 goals this season and 17 in her career, one short of tying the career goals record of 18 set by Hannah Emmet in 2013. Sophomore forward
Brooklyn Morera recorded her fifth assist of the season on the goal and is now tied for second in single-season assists in ART U program history.
The scoring was kicked off by freshman defender
Katie Williams in the 69th minute. Junior midfielder
Sydney Cooke lobbed a well placed corner kick into the box that Williams deflected with her head and launched to the top left corner of the net for a 1-0 ART U lead. Williams now has five points on two goals and one assist, while Cooke brought her point total to 10 on three goals and four assists.

In the 81st minute the Penguins equalized. Avina Victoria received a through ball that she chipped over the keeper's head to tie the match 1-1. Nine minutes later neither team had scored so the match went into overtime.
The golden goal that came in the 105th minute of play started with Morera, who quickly dribbled from the right sideline into the penalty box. When she found the space, Morera crossed in a ball on the ground right to the center of the box. Out of seemingly nowhere and between two defenders, Wilson sprinted to the ball, connected with the pass, and knocked it to the top shelf to end the match and give ART U their first overtime win of the season. The jaw dropping moment was promptly followed by a dogpile in front of the goal, as the bench sprinted onto the field to celebrate.
Their second PacWest win jumps ART U up to fifth place in the standings, with a conference record of 2-2-2 for eight points and improves their overall record to 6-4-3. Academy of Art will play their final home match of the season this Saturday Nov. 2 as they take on Fresno Pacific on senior day.
