SAN FRANCISCO – Academy of Art men's soccer dropped a 4-0 decision to Holy Names on a sunny Tuesday afternoon at Paul Goode Field.
ART U came out strong quickly and claimed the first shot of the day. Junior forward
Adrian Cekala received a cross in the middle of the penalty box, before turning and firing a line-drive shot inches high of the goal.Â
Another very real scoring opportunity materialized in the 31st minute, again created by Cekala. He took advantage of a Hawks miscue and drove into open space a couple yards outside of the penalty box. When he was centered to the goal he launched a shot on the ground to the left of the net, but the Hawks' goalkeeper laid out to make a save.Â
Holy Names found the net for the first time in the 19th minute. Josiah Romero struck a free kick from almost 30 yards out to the right corner for a 1-0 lead. The Hawks would remain scoreless the remainder of the first half, but in the 54th minute they once again scored on a free kick.
Less than two minutes later the Hawks went up 3-0 from a one-on-one breakaway that was tapped into the net by Romero. Another breaka

way in the 83rd resulted in their fourth and final goal of the day.Â
Academy of Art will look ahead to Dominican on Sunday, Oct. 27 at CCSF Soccer Field on a special promotional day dubbed, Battle of the Bridge.Â
