KNIGHT WATCH

Kills have come from a variety of sources for Academy of Art as six Urban Knights are averaging over 1.21 kills per set led by sophomore middle blocker
Sadie Emery (1.84). Coming off a week in which she led the PacWest with 77 assists, freshman setter
Picabo Reinhold has moved up to fourth in the conference in overall assists per set (6.46). Redshirt senior middle blocker
Safua Elisaia needs just eight more block assists to set the program's career record and she remains 25 total blocks from besting former teammate
Margaret Winkler for the Urban Knights' career record.
THE ARGOS OF NOTRE DAME
Notre Dame de Namur opened the season with a sweep of Humboldt State, but proceeded to fall in its next 10 matches, winning five sets during that stretch. The ship righted with a 3-2 victory over Fresno Pacific on Sept. 17 and Friday's matchup with Academy of Art will start a span of six of the next eight matches in Belmont. Fifth in the PacWest in kills per set (3.02) is Rowan Jack and Emma Kleven consequently ranks third in assists per set (7.28) while Taylor Garcia adds 4.91 digs per set (third in the conference). There have been 20 previous meetings of the Knights and Argos with Academy of Art leading 12-8 all-time.
HERE COMES THE SUN
After dropping its first 10 matches of the season with only two sets won, Fresno Pacific earned its first victory, a 3-1 triumph over UC Santa Cruz on Sept. 12 and turned that into some momentum when the Sunbirds swept Dominican on Sept. 15. FPU has since fallen to NDNU on its Bay Area road trip and will face Holy Names on Sept. 21 before Academy of Art. Among the PacWest's statistical leaders are Carley Bock (2.74 kills per set) and Chantel Montayre (3.80 digs per set). FPU holds a 10-1 all-time record versus ART U.
LOOKING AHEAD
After finishing up with Fresno Pacific, Academy of Art ventures to Hawaii for its annual roadtrip to play UH Hilo (Sept. 28), Hawaii Pacific (Sept. 30), and Chaminade (Oct. 1).
