2018 USTFCCCA NCAA Division Outdoor Track & Field All-Region Team
NEW ORLEANS --Â With the NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships a little under two weeks away, Academy of Art University track & field concluded its 2018 outdoor regular season with a total of 17 All-Region honors as announced by the nation's foremost track and field organization on Monday.
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) awarded All-Region to the top five from each region in individual events and each member of a relay ranked in the region's top three, meaning six members of the Urban Knights men's squad and three women were selected.
Leading a men's team rankedÂ
fourth in the West Region andÂ
23rd in the country (as of May 14),
Mobolade Ajomale collected four awards (100m, 200m, 400m, 4x100m).
Gatien Airiau (1500m, 3000m Steeplechase, 5000m) followed with three honors and a pair of selections went to
Marlon Britton (110mH, 4x100m). Individual All-Region honorees included
Rabah Houali (800m),
Nicolas Morales Williams (4x100m), and
Arrun Palacio (4x100m).
The women were led by
Hannah Hensley's three All-Region awards (HJ, LJ, Heptathlon) while one apiece was earned by
Marion Presigny (100mH) and
Rian Young-Werner (TJ).
The ART U men's and women's teams will be in action at the 2018 NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championships in Charlotte, N.C. next week on May 24-26.
