2018 USTFCCCA NCAA Division Indoor Track & Field All-Region Team
NEW ORLEANS --Â With the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships a little under two weeks away, Academy of Art University track & field concluded its 2018 indoor regular season with a total of 29 All-Region honors as announced by the nation's foremost track and field organization on Monday.
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) awarded All-Region to the top five from each region in individual events and each member of a relay ranked in the region's top three, meaning 10Â members of the Urban Knights men's squad and five women were selected.
Leading a men's team rankedÂ
second in the West Region andÂ
11th in the country (as of Feb. 20),Â
Mobolade Ajomale collected four awards (60m, 200m, 400m, 4x400m).
Gatien Airiau (3000m, 5000m, DMR) followed with three honors and a pair of selections went toÂ
Christian Carter (400m, 4x400m),
Rabah Houali (800m, DMR),
Michael Houston (4x400m, DMR), and
Victor Moreau (1 Mile, DMR). Individual All-Region honorees included
Arrun Palacio (TJ),
Kaze Poitier (4x400m),
Mark Doyley (60m), and
Michane Ricketts (LJ).
Leading the women in total All-Region honors for the second consecutive indoor season,
Marion Presigny was bestowed three awards (60mH, 4x400m, LJ) while two apiece went to
Rian Young-Werner (4x400m, TJ),
Jasmine Grace (200m, 4x400m), and
Schae Graham (400m, 4x400m). In her first indoor season with Academy of Art,
Swann Phelippeau captured All-Region honors in the 3000m.
The ART U men's and women's teams will be in action at the 2018 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships in Pittsburg, Kansas next week on Mar. 9-10.
