2018 Towson Tiger Invitational Results
Competing on both sides of the country Saturday, Academy of Art University track & field contested both the University of Washington Indoor Preview in Seattle and the Towson Tiger Invitational in New York.
SEATTLE – In its first of three trips to the Dempsey Indoor this season, the Urban Knights had much of their distance crew in action along with various other specialists.

The highlight was an impressive run by
Rabah Houali who made his ART U track & field debut with a new program record in the 800m. Up against the likes of Olympic bronze medalist Clayton Murphy, Houali turned in a memorable performance, going 1:53.09 for the NCAA Division II Nationals provisional and one of the country's top 10 marks thus far.
Houali would also be in action in the men's first 4x800m relay where he handed the baton to
Victor Moreau who set up
Jarred Gregory-Grimes and finally
Freddie Hessian for a program-best 8:04.04.
The women's 800m featured a lifetime best of 2:20.86 from
Ashley Brown. She would also contribute to the women's first 4x800m relay where she joined
Briaunna Caver,
Jamie Morris, and
Madeline Dignadice in putting forth the best time to date in 10:13.80.
Moreau's collegiate debut in the indoor mile saw him complete the event in 4:41.04 which was good for fourth on ART U's all-time list.
In the women's 3000m, both
Giulia McIsaac and
Jamie Morris made their debuts with career-bests of 10:28.82 and 10:31.16.
NEW YORK – The ART U crew who saw action at the St. Thomas Aquinas Spartan Invitational on Friday had the unique opportunity to compete inside The Armory, a historic venue, for the Towson Tiger Invitational.
Two of the biggest highlights from New York on Saturday were the women's and men's 4x400m relays. The quartet of
Marion Presigny,
Schae Graham,
Rian Young-Werner, and
Jasmine Grace teaming up for a NCAA provisional 3:50.97. It was the fastest mark of the 13 teams in the Towson Tiger Invite and makes them now fourth in Division II in the event.
On the men's side,
Michael Houston,
Christian Carter,
Kaze Poitier, and
Mobolade Ajomale combined for a 3:17.50, giving them first of 15 teams in the meet.
After placing first of 29 with a 6.86 in the 60m prelims, Ajomale turned in the top time once again with his 6.76 in the finals. Though he has the second-fastest time (6.69) in Division II thus far, his mark was still just the third time a DII individual had gone sub 6.80 this year.
In the women's 400m, Graham dropped significant time off her debut mark at the Mines Alumni Classic & Multis with a 56.68 (converted to 55.94) that put her second of 31 in the meet. Now a NCAA provisional qualifier in the event, Graham moves up to fourth in the country in DII.
Jameela Muhammad's best 60m dash of her career came Saturday as she delivered a 7.93 for 11th place of 33 sprinters. Both less than a second from the NCAA provisional standard, Grace was seventh (25.51) and Muhammad claimed 12th (25.89) of 43 in the 200m dash.
Carter had a lifetime-best 50.04 in the 400m where he took third of 26 competitors.
Presigny cut 0.08 off her season-best in the 60m hurdles with an 8.85 effort in the prelims that earned her second of 35. She would place third in the final with an 8.88.
In just the second 500m run by a male Urban Knight in program history,
Moses Crawford went 1:09.96.
Academy of Art will be back inside the Dempsey Indoor in Seattle for the University of Washington Invitational on Jan. 26-27.
