PacWest Conference Weekly Awards (Mar. 8)
IRVINE, Calif. -- After three first place finishes in hurdle events at the 2017 Kim Duyst Invitational this past weekend, senior
Quinlan Wright earned the program's first Pacific West Conference Track Athlete of the Week on the outdoor season on Wednesday. The award was based on competition from Feb. 27 - March 5.
Following up his career marks in the indoor hurdles, Wright continued to dominate in his first outdoor action of the year. At the Kim Duyst Invitational on
Mar. 5, the Multimedia Communications major started by taking first in the 110m hurdles prelims (14.87) before winning the event outright with a time of 14.98 in the finals. Later he would put up the day's top time in the 400m hurdles, going 53.58.
This is the first PacWest weekly award of Wight's career.
