2017 USTFCCCA NCAA Division Indoor Track & Field All-Region Team
NEW ORLEANS -- With the NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships a little under two weeks away, Academy of Art University track & field concluded its 2017 indoor regular season with a total of 27 All-Region honors as announced by the nation's foremost track and field organization on Monday. The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) awarded All-Region to the top five from each region in individual events and each member of a relay ranked in the region's top three, meaning nine members of the Urban Knights men's squad and eight women were selected.
Leading a men's team rankedÂ
fifth in the West Region andÂ
15th in the country (as of Feb. 21),
Mobolade Ajomale collected four awards (60m, 200m, 400m, 4x400m).
Gatien Airiau (3000m, 5000m) and
Quinlan Wright (60mH, 4x400m) followed with two honors apiece while individual All-Region honorees included
Marlon Britton (60mH),
Christian Carter (4x400m),
Pierre Fontanarosa (3000m),
Craig Mattox (LJ), Kaze Poitier (4x400m), and
Michane Ricketts (LJ).
One of just four women in the country with five honors,
Marion Presigny earned All-Region in the 60mH, HJ, LJ, 4x400m, and Pentathlon. Dual selections were awarded to
Schae Graham (400m, 4x400m) and
Hannah Hensley (HJ, Pentathlon) while
Jasmine Grace (4x400m),
Mistic Scott (4x400m),
Folke Woch (Pentathlon), and
Rian Young-Werner (Triple Jump) each took home one apiece.
The ART U men's and women's teams will be in action at the 2017 NCAA Division II Indoor National Championships in Birmingham, Alabama next week on Mar. 10-11.
