SAN FRANCISCO – In a Tuesday matinee matchup inside Kezar Pavilion, Chaminade prevailed over Academy of Art 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-13).

From a 6-6 tie in the first set, the Silverswords gained initial separation with a 4-0 run and ended up never relinquishing the lead. The Knights would come to within one point at 14-13 on redshirt junior middle blocker Safua Elisaia's consecutive block assist and kill, but Chaminade managed to hold on for the 25-20 final.

Similar to the opening set, the second frame had both teams knotted 5-5 before a 5-1 push got the Silverswords enough of a margin. Despite a 4-1 ART U response late in the set, Chaminade gained a 2-0 set advantage via the 25-19 victory.

After the teams traded 4-0 runs to start the third set, the Silverswords opened up another lead with a 9-2 surge. The Knights scored three unanswered points to make it 15-10, but they would come no closer as Chaminade finished off the sweep with a 25-13 triumph.

Academy of Art drops to 5-19 overall this season and 2-15 in conference play. Senior outside hitter Bailey Soolsma posted 10 kill, moving her into fourth on the program's career kills list with 616. Junior setter Alana Lucas had 15 assists, freshman middle blocker Sadie Emery added five blocks, and redshirt junior libero Lyndsay Mlynar totaled nine digs.

Winning its third match in a row for the first time since 2006, Chaminade moves to 14-11 overall and 9-8 in the PacWest. The Silverswords were led by Rachel Reedy's 10 kills plus 37 assists for Skyler Curry.

The Urban Knights head out on their final roadtrip of the season this weekend to place Dixie State in Utah this Sunday, Nov. 12 at noon MT (11 a.m. PT).
