20th Annual Lynda Goodrich Classic All-Tournament Team
BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Academy of Art University women's basketball had its best start to a game this season, but Lynda Goodrich Classic host Western Washington ended up having long-range success in its comeback toward an 82-66 win on Saturday night inside Carver Gym. Senior forward
Helena Orts was selected to the All-Tournament Team for her efforts over two days in Washington.
ART U opened on a 9-2 run highlighted by five points from Orts including her seventh triple of the year less than a minute in. The Vikings, however, came back in a hurry behind a pair of 3-pointers from Dani Iwami. After the teams traded the lead briefly, WWU used its own 9-2 surge to finish the quarter up 21-15.
The Urban Knights kept the margin at single digits for the duration of the second quarter as a timely basket by junior guard/forward
Inga Kot and back-to-back scores from Orts and senior guard/forward
Hayley Pryor eventually brought ART U to within two points at 30-28.

A four-point game at the half, 34-30, Academy of Art again cut the lead to a single basket on redshirt senior forward
Pre'Franz Dominick's jumper at the start of the third, but Western Washington quickly caught fire from long range, hitting three consecutive 3-pointers during an 11-0 run. The Vikings gained their largest lead thereafter, going ahead 59-37 at the conclusion of the fourth quarter.
Kot and Pryor each knocked down shots from beyond the three-point arc in the later stages of regulation to bring ART U as close as 12 at 75-63 with two minutes left, but WWU held on for the 82-66 final.
Following its second and final non-conference tournament, Academy of Art is 0-6 overall. Orts, who was named to the All-Tournament Team after averaging 13.0 points and 3.5 steals per game, put in 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field with six rebounds and two steals.
Jazzlynn Brewster added 13 points, tied her career-high with nine rebounds, distributed six assists, and notched a pair of steals as well. Dominick was the third Urban Knight to score in double figures with 10 points plus nine rebounds.
Western Washington evens its overall record at 3-3 with the victory after four Vikings scored in double figures led by Iwami (17 points) who connected on five of 11 shots from long range.
ART U will next enter Pacific West Conference play on the road at No. 17 Azusa Pacific on Nov. 30.
