KNIGHT WATCH

Academy of Art still sits atop the PacWest Conference in service aces per set (1.81), and is on pace to potentially break the program's record total (179) set last year. Additionally, thanks in large part to freshman libero
Ashley Pawlak's seven aces over the past two matches (she ranks fourth in the PacWest at 0.41 aces per set), the team average is already well above the previous high of 1.66. Four Urban Knights rank among the PacWest's top 10 in four different categories including sophomore setter
Lilika Teu who sits in seventh in the PacWest in assists per set (6.79) while senior outside hitter
Bailey Soolsma offers a 3.13 kills per set (ninth in the PacWest) and is just three kills from moving into fifth on the all-time career list. Pawlak is putting up 3.91 digs per set (10th in the conference).
PENGUINS WADDLE TO WIN STREAK
After starting the season with 1-7, Dominican has turned it around as of late, boasting a three-match win streak going into their matchup with the Knights. The recent streak boosted their overall record to 7-12 and their PacWest conference record to 6-5. Their most recent match against Hawaii Pacific was all Penguins, as they won the contest 3-0. Aimee Steinwand stands out as the dominant force of offense for DUC, averaging 3.17 kills per set which leads her team and ranks eighth in the PacWest Conference. Saturday will be the second time ART U has met Dominican this season after the Penguins defeated the Knights 3-2 in their first matchup at Kezar Pavilion to nearly even the historical series which now stands at 10-9 Academy of Art.Â
VOLLEYBALL EXECUTES SUNDAY SWEEP OF HAWKS
After outlasting Holy Names in the opening set, Academy of Art Volleyball used runs of 9-1 and 6-0 in the sets that followed to complete its first sweep of the year, triumphing over Holy Names 3-0 (26-24, 25-21, 25-16) on
Oct. 22 inside Tobin Gymnasium. Three Urban Knights posted eight or more kills to lead ART U.
LOOKING AHEAD
ART U will return home to Kezar Pavilion for its next two matches, facing Notre Dame de Namur (Nov. 7), and Chaminade (Nov. 9).Â
