OPENING SERVE
The Urban Knights split their final road trip of the season, winning a decisive 3-1 match with the Dixie State Red Storm but falling in three sets to nationally-ranked Grand Canyon. The Knights had three players in double figures against Dixie, with Lindsay Elgin, Caitlin Boring, and Taylor Suchy all over 10 kills, and had Rachael Smith chip in 53 assists. Against Grand Canyon, they were led by Elgin, who had 10 kills, and Smith, who added 29 assists.

KNIGHTS LOOK TO RUN IT BACK
Academy of Art steamrolled Notre Dame de Namur earlier this season, recording their best team hitting percentage (.402) against the Argonauts back on Oct. 20. In that matchup, Taylor Suchy led all players with 17 kills, hitting .654 along the way. NDNU has continued to struggle, losing sixteen in a row since their only win of the season over Holy Names. The Argos are led by Jennifer Jasper, who continues to be a bright spot for NDNU, recording 12 kills in the last match against ART U and ranking 10th in the PacWest in kills per set.

CELEBRATING THE SENIORS
ART U will be saying farewell to three seniors before Saturday's game, and will honor outside hitter Angela Heath, setter/outside hitter Melissa Cheng, and libero Janelle Burnett in a pregame ceremony. Heath has been with the team the longest, finishing up her fifth year with the team after an injury wiped out her sophomore campaign, and will end her career as the second-leading attacker in program history. Cheng finishes up with the most assists in program history, totaling over 2500 sets in her career. Burnett, a junior transfer, is in line to break the single-season mark in digs in her first full year.

SUNBIRDS MAKING THEIR MARK
Fresno Pacific has only lost two matches all year, and last week against PacWest Champion BYU-Hawai'i marked their first loss since the beginning of September. The Sunbirds got close to a loss only one other time during that span, squeaking out a win in five sets over your very own Urban Knights. The match was the first time that FPU had lost even a set at home, and the Knights took them to the brink, forcing five sets. But FPU is still a force to be reckoned with, boasting the second best hitting percentage and third best hitting defense in the league. Kathleen Anderson, who has led all year for the Sunbirds while notching the eighth-best hitting percentage in the league, had 17 kills the last time these two teams matched up.

SMITH, ELGIN BACK IN FANTASTIC 15
After their 1-1 week against Dixie State and Grand Canyon, setter Rachael Smith and middle blocker Lindsay Elgin were once again honored by the PacWest. The two both made this week's Fantastic 15 after impressive performances against their PacWest foes. Elgin led the conference by hitting .457 in seven sets, totaling 25 kills over the two matches. Smith totaled 82 assists in seven sets, good for an 11.71 assists per set average, which ranked first in the conference. For Elgin, it was her fourth selection this year. It was the fifth appearance for Smith.
