PacWest Release

Phoenix, AZ -- Following the 2011 USF Invitational, both junior Kristen Sanzari and senior Stacey Toth of the Academy of Art women's cross country team have earned selections to the Pacific West Conference Weekly Top 10 Honor Roll. Sanzari led the Urban Knights in the 5k race while Toth was not far behind and registerd her career best. The honors were announced by the PacWest Media Office in Phoenix, AZ, on Monday, Sept. 5 for races contested on Sept. 3.




Sanzari paced the Academy of Art women with a 19:47 mark on Saturday's opener. A transfer from Cal Poly, Sanzari hung tough against the elite Division I competition beside her such as Stanford, UC Berkeley, and others. She finished 32nd overall among four-year participants.






As the second Urban Knights finisher, Toth posted her best time on a 5k course at the USF Invitational. She crossed the finish line at 20:22 and captured 42nd place for ART U.

This is the first PacWest Weekly Top 10 honor for Toth and fourth in her ART U career. It is the first for Sanzari.
