Meghan Bushnell

A member of the ART U Athletic Department since 2009, Meghan Bushnell serves as the Associate Athletics Director of Artist-Athlete Development and Internal Operations, and ART U’s Senior Woman Administrator. In addition, Bushnell is the advisor for the ART U SAAC (Student-Athlete Advisory Committee) and also serves as the PacWest Conference SAAC Liaison.
 
Bushnell is responsible for the development of all leadership, mentoring and diversity programming for the ART U artist-athletes. Within her role of overseeing Student-Athlete Development, Bushnell has implemented the inaugural Women In Leadership Development (W.I.L.D.) Women's group, a support group for the female student-athletes to network, voice their thoughts, and to discuss topics such as the history of Title IX, career development, positive self-image, health awareness, finance management, and mental well-being. Under her leadership, the ART U Urban Knights have earned the PacWest Conference Diversity & Inclusion Award ('13-'14) and PacWest Community Engagement Award ('11-'12 and '12-'13). 

Bushnell’s internal duties include oversight on all administrative issues and operational functions of the athletics office, liaison to Adidas, and management the student-athlete end-of-season evaluations and exit interviews. She is the sports supervisor to Men’s Soccer, Softball and Tennis, along with Sports Medicine and Strength & Conditioning.

A graduate of the 2012-13 NCAA Division II Athletic Directors Association Women & Minorities Mentoring Program, Bushnell had previously served as Assistant Athletic Director of Artist-Athlete Development & External Operations in 2012. In this role, Bushnell was responsible for the overall development and promotion of the Academy of Art University Athletic Department including in-game promotions, management of the ART U Drumline and Cheer team, and well-being of the student-athletes. She was also as the Assistant to the former Director of Athletics, Dr. Jamie Williams.

A native from Connecticut and a 2003 High School All-American, Bushnell was recruited to play lacrosse at the University of California Berkeley. In addition to being a two-time captain and a valuable member of the defense for the Golden Bears, Bushnell was on the Cal Student-Athlete Honor Roll (2003-2007), Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Conference All-Academic Team (2005-2007), and a member of the Cal Student-Athlete Advisory Council in her last three seasons. In her senior year, Bushnell started a mentorship program with the Cal Women’s Lacrosse Team and Alliance Academy Middle School in East Oakland, CA.

Bushnell currently resides in San Francisco and is a member of the inaugural Olympic Club Women’s Lacrosse team and is a board member of the Big C Alumni Society.
