Junior defender Vilmundur Sveinsson played a major role in Academy of Art University's strong end to its most successful season. The Reykjavik, Iceland native finished the week with four points on two goals and had scored during significant moments for the Urban Knights in a 2-0 week.

Sveinsson helped ART U top Notre Dame de Namur, the #5 team in the West Region at the time, with the only goal of the match in the 95th minute. Taking a cross from sophomore forward Grimur Grimsson to the back post, Sveinsson headed the ball into the net to give Academy of Art its dramatic overtime victory. Then, on Nov. 6, Sveinsson broke a 0-0 tie against Dixie State off a corner kick by freshman midfielder Andrew Durano in the 37th minute. The Knights would go on to win that season finale by a one-goal margin.
