Gamboa put together a big opening series, starting all four games and batting .533 (8-for-15) with an OPS of 1.411. He hit his first home run of the season in game two of the series, his first home run at ART U, and also had a double. In the series finale which the Urban Knights came back from a nine-run hole, he went 4-for-5 with a run and an RBI. Overall, he drove in four runs and scored four times, racking up a total of 12 total bases and three walks. His OBP for the series was .611, and he was 1-for-1 on stolen base attempts.
