Senior infielder Samantha Klune continued to wield one of the hottest bats on the Academy of Art softball team in four games against two nationally-ranked opponents. Klune hit .500 (6-for-12) with a home run, three runs batted in, and two runs scored versus No. 15 California Baptist and No. 19 Dixie State.

Beginning with a doubleheader against the Lancers on May 3 in Riverside, Klune went 1-for-2 in the first game and added a 2-for-2 performance in the second contest. Watching on ESPN3, the country would see the Acting major's current hit streak would then rise to seven games on May 5 versus the Trailblazers in Utah as she blasted a two-run homer as part of a 1-for-5 effort in the opener then finished the regular season with a 2-for-3 game two that included one RBI.

Klune has moved up to second on the team with a .344 batting average (18th in PacWest) and top 15 in extra-base hits (18).
