Sophomore Sterling Hawkins came away from the NCAA Division II National Championship tied for 44th and within the top ten individuals.

Hawkins’ best round of the tournament came on the first day when she tied for sixth overall and was the leader amongst individuals with an even, 72 strokes. The San Jose, Calif. native posted two birdies and finished the round with seven consecutive pars.
 
"Nationals was a lot of fun and really shows you where the level of competition is right now," said Hawkins. "I felt like it was an endurance run with a huge mental side as well. Overall, I learned a lot for tournaments coming up this fall and next spring."
 
Hawkins was just the second ART U women’s golfer to compete at Nationals in program history and the second in the last two years.
