Sophomore Crystal Wang became the first Academy of Art University women's golfer to qualify for the NCAA Division II National Championship Wednesday when she won the West Regional title after three rounds of competition at Foxtail Golf Course in Rohnert Park.

Wang was one stroke shy of setting a school-record for lowest round Monday when she shot a 69 to take a two-stroke lead. She was tied for the lead after the second round and though she double bogeyed her 54th hole of the tournament, she finished tied with Midwestern State's Brenna Moore at four-over to win the title.
