A major contributor to the 6-0 victory for Academy of Art University Men's Soccer that tied the program's single-game scoring record, junior Frederik Nagel netted a pair of goals versus Simpson. Nagel helped open the flood gates out at Boxer Stadium this past Saturday, scoring twice in a four-minute span to end the half with his team holding a 2-0 lead.
After scoring the team's first goal of the year against Humboldt, Nagel now leads the team with three goals to his name thus far. Incredibly, he has scored three times in four attempts on frame for a .800 shot percentage. The Kiel, Germany native moves up into a tie with current teammate Patrick Heinemann for most goals scored in an Urban Knight career with eight to date.
"The style of play was good for the guys [on Saturday]," head coach Mike Keller said. "Freddy took the top off and then it all kind of flowed from there. We're building and the guys were pushing the ball around pretty well. I think for us, if we create good chances and finish them, we'll be in good shape."
