Senior midfielder Richard Luna has remained an underrated star for the Academy of Art University men's soccer team this season. Though he does not amass offensive statistics like many forwards or goalkeepers, Luna's presence on defense has helped the Urban Knights continue to ward off attacks and remain in control.

Following two matches against Grand Canyon, the #4 team in the latest NSCAA West Region Poll, Luna's contributions earned the praise of head coach Daniel Rosaia this past week. Following the contests, Coach Rosaia mentioned Luna as an important cog in the ART U machine. "He's our defensive center half back and has really been holding down the fort for us," Coach Rosaia said. "Luna has been sacrificing for the team a lot lately and he's really playing hard right now."
