Scoring her first collegiate score in Academy of Art women’s soccer’s match against Dominican on Oct. 17 was freshman midfielder Piper Schmidt as she knocked in her goal off a bounce to the far post from the right side after collecting the ball in from teammate sophomore forward/midfielder Alanna Del Carlo off a cross. The score was off Schmidt’s second shot of the year, as both were on target.

Also, with a match on Oct. 19 against Fresno Pacific, Schmidt played 110 minutes on the week out in the middle of the formation. Schmidt’s goal additionally pushes her to tied for the lead in points on the squad for the 2024 season.
