Noah Casaquit began as Academy of Art University women's volleyball assistant coach in July 2019.

Returning to the court for the first time in over a year, Academy of Art volleyball competed in an abbreviated six-match spring campaign for its 2020-21 season. Along with valuable experience gained particularly for its freshman class, ART U finished with three players ranking among the Pacific West Conference statistical leaders including freshman outside hitter Ashley Mecham third with 3.45 kills per set. The team garnered a total of eight Academic All-PacWest honors at the year's end as well.

In the biggest turnaround of any PacWest team, Academy of Art volleyball highlighted its 2019 campaign with series sweeps of four conference opponents, a stretch where ART U won six of seven, multiple PacWest postseason honors plus 11 Academic All-PacWest selections, and, following an 11-win improvement from 2018, the program's second-most victories in the Urban Knights' NCAA Championship era.

An NAIA All-American libero with over eight years of collegiate coaching experience, Casaquit came to ART U after his most recent stint as an assistant coach with NCAA Division I UC Berkeley. With Cal in 2018, the Golden Bears posted their highest win total since 2013, upsetting four top-25 teams while a trio of student-athletes earned All-Pac-12 honors and six made the Pac-12 All-Academic list.

Prior to UC Berkeley, Casaquit spent four years as an assistant coach for the Long Beach City College men’s and women’s volleyball programs where he began in 2014. In his time at LBCC, Casaquit coached the Viking men to a state title in 2016. He also helped the program seal back-to-back-to-back California Community College Athletic Association Western Conference Championships (2016, 2017, 2018). Most recently he helped guide the Vikings to a perfect 19-0 season before falling in the state semifinals in 2018.

Casaquit assisted with the women’s team until 2016, which included organizing statistical data and presentations to maximize player performance. He also served as an adjunct professor in the Physical Education/Kinesiology Department at LBCC.

Before his time in Long Beach, Casaquit served as the head coach for two seasons at his collegiate alma mater Hope International University. In 2015, he led the Royals to an NAIA National Division Championship after twice defeating the conference leader Concordia (Calif.) to advance to the NAIA National Invitational Championship Tournament. In 2016, Casaquit coached the Royals to a conference runner-up finish.

Prior to his head coaching stint at Hope International, Casaquit assisted Cerritos College women’s volleyball program from 2016-2017 where he focused on developing high-level skillsets for the student-athletes.

Casaquit began his collegiate coaching career at Cypress College in 2011 as the women’s volleyball assistant coach.

As a player, Casaquit began his career as the starting libero for Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa, before transferring to Hope International in Fullerton, Calif. While at HIU, he was named captain and led the team to HIU’s first appearance in the NAIA National Championship Tournament in 2009 where the Vikings finished third – the highest ranking in school history.

Casaquit was also named to the 2009 NAIA All-Tournament Team and picked up NAIA All-America honors in 2009 and 2010. He was recognized as NAIA Defensive Player of the Year in both seasons. He is the HIU program’s all-time career leader with 690 digs and is the single-season record holder with 289 digs.

A consultant and trainer for Peak Volleyball Academy, he was the head coach for Team Rockstar club in 2015, and 2017-2018.

Casaquit earned a master’s degree in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University in 2014 after finishing his undergrad degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Business Management at HIU.

Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Casaquist found his passion for the sport of volleyball growing up on the Hawaiian Islands.
