Kelly Leonardo enters her first year as Academy of Art University assistant coach in the fall of 2015 after two stints in athletics marketing following her four-year collegiate volleyball career with Fresno State.
From 2012-2013, she served as the marking & promotions coordinator for Cal State Bakersfield, overseeing all marketing aspects for the 16 sport programs as well as the Cheer, Dance, and Mascot Spirit Program. Prior to Bakersfield, Leonardo spent two years (2010-12) as a marketing assistant for Fresno State where she helped set multiple significant attendance marks in both women's volleyball and women's basketball.
An accomplished middle blocker at Fresno State, Leonardo finished her career as a Bulldog ranking fourth in blocks assists (284), fifth in total blocks (343) and in sets played (416), and top 10 all-time in matches played (115) and in block solos (59). Her memorable senior year included a career-high 10 total blocks versus North Dakota, the third highest total in a four-set match in school history.
Leonardo finished Second Team All-WAC and Academic All-WAC as well as a member of the Fresno State All-Decade team. She would complete her bachelor's degree in Child Development from Fresno State in 2011.
