Tyler Strawn joined the Academy of Art baseball team as a volunteer in January of 2018.

Shortly after joining the coaching staff, ART U experienced the most successful season in program history. The 2018 Urban Knights set the single season wins record, recorded the first ever four game sweep, and achieved the longest winning streak since the inception of the program in 2009. The historic sweep and win streak were both recorded against Dixie State, who before then had never been swept in the history of PacWest play.

Strawn is an alum of Academy of Art and played for the Urban Knights from 2015-2016 after spending time at Division 1 East Carolina. Strawn had a successful two years with the program, and appears in the top ten of multiple ART U single season and career records, including the second most hits in a single season (57) set in 2016. That same season, he appeared and started in all 49 games, hitting .306 with 12 doubles and 18 runs batted in.

Off the field, Strawn is currently a supervisor at MLB Advanced Media where he supervises a staff of 15 radio and video loggers, maintains streaming fidelity, and organizes department workflow and every day tasks.

Strawn graduated from Academy of Art with a BA in Communications and Media Technologies in 2017.
