Charlie Henderson

Charlie Henderson returns for a third season as the main assistant to Coach McDermott and the ART U baseball program. Henderson provides a solid foundation for the growing program as he fulfills a large number of essential duties.

Off the field, Henderson oversees all baseball academic, community service, transportation, facility, equipment, uniform inventory, and communication basics. His knowledge of computer technology and social media technology is essential to the success of the Urban Knight program. On the field, Henderson has served as pitching coach, bench advisor and, first base coach.

Henderson played for McDermott at Regis and was a three-time first team all-Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference pitcher for the Rangers in 2010, 2011 and 2012. He is the only pitcher in the 110 year history of the RMAC to accomplish such a feat. Henderson was the starting pitcher in forty-one games and appeared in forty-eight. In his career, he threw 307 innings winning eighteen games.

Henderson ranked among the RMAC’s top-five in strikeouts (55), innings pitched (93.6) and ERA (4.98) while throwing four complete games during his sophomore campaign in 2010. In 2011, he posted a nearly 3-to-1 strikeout to walks ratio of 62 Ks/22BBs while throwing 99.6 innings in thirteen starts. During the 2012 campaign, Henderson led his team to an appearance in the NCAA North Central Regional in Mankato, Minnesota. He finished the season with a 3.83 ERA, and threw 101 innings as he started fourteen games. Henderson is ranked first in six Regis University all-time pitching categories and in the top ten in 17 other rankings. He established four single season records and is in the top five in 23 other pitching categories. Henderson was a two-time team captain and three time recipient of the Ferguson Cup (Pitcher of the Year) while at Regis.

Henderson also earned academic accolades during his time at Regis. In 2010, he was named to the RMAC Academic Honor Roll, and in 2011 was named to the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll reserved for student-athletes with grade point averages above 3.5. He also served in the prestigious President’s  Leader in Service program. As such, Henderson served as an Ambassador for the University in various public relations, community service and fund raising endeavors for Regis University.
Henderson also brings professional administrative experience to the Urban Knights. Following his time at Regis, Henderson worked in marketing and promotions for both the Colorado Rockies and the Colorado Avalanche in Denver.

Henderson currently resides in San Francisco.
