Nighthawk Invitational (Rounds 1 & 2)
PLEASANTON, Calif. – Over at the Nighthawk Invitational, Academy of Art men's golf's five golfers shot a combined 37-over-par 613 on the first day as a unit with 21 total birdies or better coming from those members, good for fifth place as a team.
Senior Giulio Zanichelli had eight of those birdies in his first two rounds of the tournament, where he finished the day with a 5-over-par 149 in 20th place overall individually. Senior
Anson Pan was next up for the squad, as his 7-over-par 151 is good for 28th place while he added the day's only eagle for ART U. Freshman
Ekam Singh slotted into the third spot on the team, as he concluded his first two rounds of the tournament with a 10-over-par 154. Closing out the team score, junior
Zach DuBourdieu's 15-over-par 159 rounded out the squad's 37-over-par 613. Sophomore
Miguel Mendoza came up next for the team with a 23-over-par 167
On the team leaderboard, No. 12 Cal State East Bay paces the tournament with a 6-over-par 580, as No. 42 Sonoma State is next up with a 15-over-par 591. On the individual side, Cole Kroeker of SSU and Easton Hether of CSUEB are atop the leaderboard with a 2-under-par 142 with a two-stroke lead over Jonah Camarillo of Cal State Dominguez Hills.
The players will hit the links again tomorrow at 8 a.m. for the last round at the Nighthawk Invitational.
