Andy Chew Joins Men's Golf In 2024 Recruiting Class

Andy ChewSAN FRANCISCO – Academy of Art men's golf has announced its third recruit for the upcoming 2024-25 season, as Head Coach Joe Dolby adds Andy Chew (Sarawak, Malaysia/Tunku Putra - Help International School) to join the Urban Knights in the fall.

"I'm looking forward to meeting Coach Dolby and all my teammates this coming August," Chew said. "Other than that, I'm excited to be in the university studying and making new friends. I'm also excited to start golfing in a whole new atmosphere and environment because I'm pretty sure everything will be different in the United States compared to Malaysia which includes the grass, the green speed, the weather, and the breeze. Last but not least, I'm looking forward to improving myself and playing better golf in the US!"

Coming to the Urban Knights as a freshman, Chew will join the squad after most recently competing with the Sarawak Team at the Sarawak Golf Club in Malaysia. A busy career as a junior golfer, Chew would travel between his competitions including taking part in the Sarawak Sports Corporation Junior Golf Competitions as the tournament lead while flying to Kuala Lumpur to battle in the PGM Maybank Championship. Chew was also named as the individual champion at the Grand Championship as he put together a 72-73-70 three-round score.

Chew is the third announced member of the ART U men's golf 2024-25 signing class and will enter the School of Architecture with future plans of competing as a professional golfer competing on the PGA Tour. Chew joins Ekam Singh and Mario Stump in this year's recruiting class.
