SAN FRANCISCO – Continuing to build its depth ahead of the Fall season, Academy of Art women's soccer program has announced its 11th newcomer in midfielder Kara Aradottir (Sandgerdi, Iceland/Framhaldskoli Sudurnesja).
"Academy of Art University caught my eye from the start of my university research," Aradottir said. "Something about the school gives me more drive to follow my vision. All of the courses I wanted to learn are taught at the school and ART U fulfills my passion for soccer while I study abroad. Moving to the other side of the world will be different and challenging, but I appreciate new challenges. I'm excited to take my first class, have my first practice, and make memories."
Prior to competing in soccer for Framhaldskoli Sudurnesja for two seasons, Aradottir collected numerous accolades playing for her club team Keflavík. She began by being named Player of the Year in 2017 then added Best Midfielder and Best Player in the junior women's division. She would follow with Most Promising Player honors in back-to-back seasons (2018-19) along with a selection as Best Teammate and a trophy for a game with the U15 Icelandic National Team in 2019.
