2022 NNU Poppy Ridge Invitational (Final Results)
LIVERMORE, Calif. – Academy of Art men's golf freshman
Anson Pan claimed the best finish by an Urban Knight at the NNU Poppy Ridge Invitational, tying for 12th place thanks to a final score of 3-over-par 147. As a unit, ART U also closed out in a tie for 12th with a combined score of 43-over-par 619.
The final round of the tournament for Pan contained four birdies as he went on to post a 4-over-par, posting his best finish thus far into his first collegiate season. Next up was freshman
Giulio Zanichelli in a tie for 50th place, carding the best round on the day by an Urban Knight when he closed out at even-par 72, leading him to an overall score of 12-over-par 156. Closing out the scoring for Academy of Art was junior
Matthew Watkins in a tie for 60th place at 14-over-par 158 while
Ralph Kho tied for 74th with a final score of 17-over-par 161.
Capturing the team title was Cal State East Bay with a combined score of 7-over-par 583, though it was Hawaii Pacific that would boast the individual champion as Keita Okada dominated with a 6-under-par 138. Hawaii Pacific finished as the best PacWest team in the tournament in a tie for eighth at 31-over-par 607, and finishing even with the Knights was Holy Names with an identical score of 43-over-par 619.
The Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout is up next for ART U men's golf, with the Urban Knights getting back into action next Monday from Chuck Corica Golf Complex beginning on Mar. 14.
