ACADEMY OF ART CLASHES WITH HAWKS IN WEEK'S LONE MATCH

ART U volleyball will look to continue its three-match win streak and stretch of five wins in six matches with a Pacific West Conference road contest at Holy Names this Wednesday.

KNIGHT WATCH
ART U enters this week ranked fourth in the PacWest in digs per set (17.30) after the team's fourth time amassing 90+ last week versus UC Santa Cruz. Highly efficient hitting .650 in the Urban Knights' most recent victory over Fresno Pacific, sophomore middle blocker Jillian Wheaton remains second in the conference in hitting percentage at .389, rising to 16th in NCAA Division II. Sophomore setter Picabo Reinhold also moved up, taking over the second-highest assists per set average (9.59) in the PacWest while remaining third in the program's career assists category with 1,434 in less than two seasons. She has added a team-high 13 double-doubles as well. The junior outside hitter tandem of Mariana Figueroa Ferriera (0.36) and Ashley Pawlak (0.34) rank sixth and eighth respectively in the conference in service aces per set (0.38). After averaging 5.46 digs per set in her last three matches, Figueroa Ferriera has taken over the top digs per set average on the squad (3.72) while Pawlak continues to serve as the team leader in points per set (3.04). Pawlak has added nine double-doubles and, with the program's career records watch in full effect, she currently sits fourth in digs (930), sixth in career service aces (76), and seventh in career kills (592). 

HAWK TALK
After starting the year with a win over UC Merced, Holy Names lost seven straight before defeating Dominican on Sept. 23. That would stand as one the Hawks' two conference victories as the other came over Notre Dame de Namur on Oct. 23. HNU is led by Sierra Allen's 2.84 kills per set (eighth in PacWest) as well as Jasmine Yun's 7.14 assists per set (sixth in PacWest). In its historical matchup with Holy Names, Academy of Art is 16-5 with wins in five of the teams' last six meetings.

LOOKING AHEAD
After six days off from competition, ART U starts a busy week with Dominican on Wednesday, Nov. 6 followed by a Southern California roadtrip to Azusa Pacific (Nov. 8) and Point Loma (Nov. 9).
