KNIGHT WATCH
Senior forward Anissa Wilson scored the game winning goal in the Urban Knights 2-1 victory in their PacWest opener against Azusa Pacific. Wilson put a nice header on a cross and drove the ball to the top right corner to give ART U the lead in the 46th minute. Wilson's ninth goal of the season and 15th of her career moved her into a tie for second with Rea Laudat on the ART U women's soccer career goals list. Her third game winning goal of the season and sixth of her career also puts her at the top of the career game-winning goals list.  Furthermore, Wilson's 19 points on nine goals and one assist are second most for ART U and in the PacWest conference.

Sophomore forward Brooklyn Morera assisted the goal, to notch her team leading fourth assist of the season. Morera's 10 points on three goals and four assists are fourth most in the conference, and her four assists is tied for first. Junior midfielder Sydney Cooke scored the equalizer against the Cougars. Cooke ripped a shot from 25 yards out that curved beautifully to the top left corner to tie the match at one. With nine points on three goals and three assists, Cooke is third in points for the Urban Knights and fifth in the conference.

BIOLA EAGLES
With an overall record of 5-3-1 and a conference record of 2-0, the Eagles of Biola are in second place in the PacWest. Biola's six points came from a 3-0 win against Holy Names and a 1-0 win over Dominican. Biola has now won four straight and has recorded a shutout in their past six matches. In non-conference play, the Eagles took on two PacWest opponents and notched 1-0 wins in both, against Point Loma and Concordia. Coli Martin leads the offense with seven points on two goals and three assists. The strength of the Eagles comes from their defense, which has notched six shutouts and allowed just five goals all season. Their goalkeeper Christina Rodriguez leads the conference in shutouts (4) and goals against average (.388). Historically the Urban Knights are 0-3 all-time against the Eagles, and dropped their most recent meeting 1-0.

POINT LOMA SEA LIONS
The 2018 PacWest conference champions are off to a strong start in looking to repeat. The Sea Lions are in first place with a record of 3-0 for nine points in conference. Point Loma started their PacWest win-streak with a 4-1 victory over Holy Names before defeating Dominican 3-1 and most recently Azusa Pacific 2-0. Prior to conference the Sea Lions suffered 1-0 losses to both Biola and Azusa Pacific in non-conference contests. Other notable non-conference matches include a 2-1 win over Cal State LA and 2-0 win over Dixie State. Julia Glaser and Rachel Carrell are tied for the top spot in points and goals for the Sea Lions with six and three respectively and Abbi Swanson facilitates the scoring with a team leading four assists. PLNU is a perfect 7-0 all-time against ART U.

KNIGHTS TOPPED BY CONCORDIA 2-0
Academy of Art held Concordia scoreless for the first half, but the Eagles rallied for a pair of goals in the second period, forcing ART U to drop a 2-0 decision on Thursday morning at Paul Goode Field.

LOOKING AHEAD
Following a pair of matches in SoCal, Academy of Art will return to San Francisco to host Holy Names and Dominican. The Urban Knights' match against Dominican on Oct. 27 will be the Battle of the Bridge. All fans in attendance will receive an ART U fanny pack and be eligible for a special giveaway.
