KNIGHT WATCH
Academy of Art has relied on sophomore middle blocker Sadie Emery for a large part of its offense as she comes in averaging a team-high 2.04 kills per set. Freshman setter Picabo Reinhold remains top 10 in the conference in assists per set (5.83), now ranking seventh overall. Redshirt senior middle blocker Safua Elisaia sits 10 block assists from breaking the program's career record and 27 total blocks from besting former teammate Margaret Winkler for the Urban Knights' career record.

HAWK TALK
One of four teams yet to record a PacWest victory this year, Holy Names comes into Wednesday's matchup with Academy of Art 1-7 overall. The Hawks swept Mills on Aug. 28, but have otherwise taken losses to various West Region opponents as they were one of the hosts of the D2 West Region Showcase alongside ART U. HNU took sets from Western Oregon and Stanislaus State previously. The team has been led by the tandem of Sierra Allen and Fanny Chow who average 2.21 and 2.17 kills per set respectively. In its historical matchup with Holy Names, the Urban Knights are 15-4 all-time.

HOLA BIOLA
New to the PacWest one year ago, Biola has had an up-and-down 2018 thus far. The Eagles won three of their first four matches, playing four or five sets on each occasion. BU bounced back from losses to Cal State San Bernardino and Western Washington by sweeping Sonoma State and Fresno Pacific, but fell to Point Loma on Sept. 11. Sierra Bauder ranks third in the conference in hitting percentage (.405) while putting up 2.45 kills per set. ART U faced Biola for the first time last year and dropped a 3-0 decision.

FLIGHT OF THE CONCORDIA
Off to a rough start in 2018, Concordia defeated American International in their opener, but fell in straight sets to its next eight opponents before sweeping Fresno Pacific on Sept. 7. The Eagles, who have only played one road match this season will challenge Holy Names on Sept. 14 before facing Academy of Art. Emily LaCroix-Dalluh currently paces the PacWest in blocks per set (1.23) and Patience O'Neal leads the team at 2.96 kills per set. In four previous meetings of the two teams, CUI leads ART U 4-0.

LOOKING AHEAD
Next up, Academy of Art will face Notre Dame de Namur in Belmont on Sept. 21 before hosting Fresno Pacific on Sept. 22 back inside Kezar Pavilion.
