KNOTABLE KNIGHTS
A transfer from Scottsdale Community College, junior catcher
Zak May has topped the offensive stat sheet for the Urban Knights in the early goings of 2018: he currently leads the team in batting average (.308) and runs batted in (four) and is tied for second with five total bases. May was also the hero in their previous contest against SF State , delivering a game-winning, RBI double in the 10th-inning. Senior lefty
Alex Fernandez was named one of this week's Urban Knights of the week after putting together a
strong start in his first outing of the 2018 season against Central Washington. Despite giving up a single in the first inning, the Napa, Calif. native escaped the frame with only five pitches and finished the first two innings with just 17 pitches while recording three strikeouts. Fernandez then cruised through the next five innings (7.0 in total) while only allowing two earned runs and picking up ART U's first win of the season on February 10.

FIRST MEETING BETWEEN THE RED HAWKS AND URBAN KNIGHTS
Saturday will mark the first time that Academy of Art and Simpson have gone head-to-head. The Red Hawks are currently 4-8 this season and they finished fourth in the Cal Pac in 2017 with an 18-33 overall record. Zachary Jones is their biggest producer thus far, as he is touting a .395 batting average and has started all 12 games for the Red Hawks.
PREVIOUS CONTEST: MAY'S GAME-WINNING RBI LIFTS ART U OVER SFSU IN EXTRAS
February 13 – In quite the pitcher's duel, Tuesday's game against SF State was not decided until the 10th-inning. Junior catcher
Zak May was the hero in this one as he was responsible for both of the Urban Knights' runs, collecting runs batted in in both the first and 10th-innings.
