KNIGHT WATCH
Senior goalkeeper Morgan Wirz is just one scoreless match away from breaking the career shutouts program record set in 2014 by Rachael Rempe (8). Junior forward Anissa Wilson is also chasing records, after her sixth goal of the season against Azusa Pacific, Wilson is just one goal back from tying the single season goals record set in 2011 by Marg Thorolfsdottir (7). In ART U's most recent match, senior defender Chayney Mata claimed her first career goal on an exceptionally placed penalty kick to even the score and send the Knights home with a point.

SHARK ATTACK
Hawaii Pacific has put together a balanced 2018 with an overall record of 5-5-4 and a conference record of 3-2-2. The Sharks started the year on a high note, when in their second game of the season they forced a 1-1 tie against No. 2 UC San Diego. HPU earned their first win on Sept. 15th when they took down Chaminade 3-2. In their most recent match, the Sharks defeated UH Hilo 1-0. Tehani Furuta is HPU's leading scorer with four goals and eight points. Furuta is followed closely by Nina Gonzales with seven points on three goals and one assist. Academy of Art is 3-6 all-time against HPU. In their most recent meeting the Sharks took down the Urban Knights 1-0.

SILVERSWORDS STRIKE
Chaminade is currently at the bottom of the PacWest table, with a winless conference record of 0-7-1 and a 1-9-1 overall record. The Silverswords only win of the season came in their first match of 2018 versus Antelope Valley by a score of 2-0. CUH dropped their most recent match against Fresno Pacific 3-1 to bring their losing streak to seven. The Silverswords will have an opportunity to break the losing streak with Holy Names on Oct. 27th before they face the Urban Knights. Randi Fontes provides the offense for the Silverswords, with a team leading five goals and ten points.  Historically, ART U has enjoyed success against CUH with an all-time record of 8-4, although the Silverswords took the most recent meeting 3-1.

MATA FORCES TIE WITH FIRST CAREER GOAL
Two overtime periods were not enough to settle the issue in the Urban Knight's final road game of 2018 that saw senior defender Chayney Mata's first career goal in the 53rd minute to force a 1-1 tie with Concordia. Read More.

LOOKING AHEAD
After the pair of home games, Academy of Art will conclude their 2018 campaign with a final match versus Notre Dame de Namur Nov. 3 on senior day.
