KNIGHTS OF KNOTE
Academy of Art wound up splitting their first PacWest series of the year when Concordia came to town March 3-5. The Urban Knights rode the backs of several key performances including wins from junior right hander
Luke Lacy (6.1 IP, three runs, two strikeouts, four walks) and senior lefty
Alexander Kuisel (2.2 IP, one run, four hits, three strikeouts, no walks). Junior outfielder
Jackson Murphy also had a big day in the final game of the series, hitting a game-tying, two-run home run in the fourth and threw out a runner attempting to stretch a single into a double from right field in the eighth.

VULCANS TAKE ONE OF FOUR TO OPEN CONFERENCE
UH Hilo opened their PacWest season at home against Hawaii Pacific and took the first game 5-2. However, the Sharks retaliated with three-consecutive wins to close out the series. UH Hilo has only played six games to this point in the season and is currently 2-4 overall. Eric Vega has tossed the most innings for the Vulcans thus far (7.0) and has only allowed two runs (one earned) during that time.

SHARKS 3-6 IN EARLY PACWEST-PLAY
After going 10-2 in non-conference, Hawaii Pacific hit the road and are in the midst of three conference series (two in Southern California). Froy Smith is the only Shark batting over .300 and leads the team with a .394 batting average (13-for-33) with five doubles and a triple (both team-highs). Blake Flint has been the ace thus far for HPU, only allowing five earned runs in 26.0 innings pitched (1.73 earned run average) and is currently 3-1 in his four starts.
