KNIGHT WATCH

Now atop the PacWest Conference in service aces per set (1.75), Academy of Art is on pace to potentially break the program's record total (179) set last year. Additionally, the average is already well above the previous high of 1.66. Four Urban Knights rank among the PacWest's top 10 in four different categories including the program's all-time blocks leader senior middle blocker
Margaret Winkler who is putting up 0.91 blocks per set and has a block solo in each of her past two matches (putting her two from second on the all-time career list where Angela Heath currently resides). Sophomore setter
Lilika Teu, who this year became just the third Urban Knight to ever total over 1,000 career assists, sits in fifth in the PacWest in assists per set (7.00) while senior outside hitter
Bailey Soolsma offers a 3.12 kills per set and is 22 kills from moving into fifth on the all-time career list. Freshman libero
Ashley Pawlak is putting up 3.71 digs per set (10th).
HOLA BIOLA
After starting the year 3-1, Biola expanded that to 6-2 at the same D2 West Region Volleyball Showcase as ART U. The Eagles then began their first official PacWest Conference season with two wins in five matches, but have since gone 3-0, defeating Azusa Pacific, Chaminade, and Point Loma. BU will take on Holy Names (Oct. 18) prior to meeting Academy of Art. For an Eagles team that ranks second in the conference in kills per set (13.04) and third in blocks per set (2.47), five players average over 2.0 kills per set including Sierra Bauder who is currently second in the PacWest in blocks per set (1.25). Thursday will be the first time Academy of Art has met Biola.
LET'S TALK HAWKS
It has been a rough season for Holy Names as the Hawks have yet to win a match in 18 contests this season. HNU captured just one set in their first 10 matches and has since taken three in nine PacWest pairings. Holy Names' longest homestand of the year will end with Academy of Art this Sunday and it comes after the Hawks face Biola on Wednesday as previously mentioned. Summer Williams leads HNU in kills per set (2.02) while Daisy Valladares puts up a team-high 3.28 digs per set. In a total of 17 historical meetings, ART U leads Holy Names 13-4.
ACADEMY OF ART TOPPED BY DIXIE STATE
Early runs helped give Dixie State a two-set advantage and ultimately the 3-0 (25-12, 25-14, 25-20) victory over Academy of Art in Pacific West Conference volleyball action on
Oct. 16Â inside Kezar Pavilion.
LOOKING AHEAD
For its next four matches, ART U will remain in the PacWest's Northern California pod, facing Dominican (Oct. 28), Fresno Pacific (Nov. 3), then Notre Dame de Namur (Nov. 7) and Chaminade (Nov. 9) both inside Kezar Pavilion.
