CBU ON TOP
California Baptist enters the series with Academy of Art in first place in the PacWest and is ranked 10th in the country. Thus far, the Lancers are 23-7, 13-3 PacWest and also just split a four-game set with Hawaii Pacific. CBU has several players ranked highly within the conference including Stephen Lohr who is second in batting average (.421), hits (48), and doubles (14).

FARFAN SHUTS OUT HPU, FORCES SERIES SPLIT
March 29 - Hawaii Pacific was off to a quick start in what would become their largest offensive output of the season. In fact, the Sharks' 14 runs were the most they have scored since plating 19 on April 19 2015 versus UH Hilo. Conversely, it was the most runs Academy of Art has allowed in just over a year, dating back to March 27, 2015. That day, now volunteer coach Brady Maclane was saddled with the loss in a 21-3 final to Dixie State.

HPU scored only single runs in the first and third innings, but their largest frame came in the fifth, scoring 10 runs on nine hits.

LOOKING AHEAD
After the conclusion of the series with the Lancers, the Urban Knights will receive a 13-day, midseason intercession before returning to Southern California to face Point Loma.
